These treats are just like the ones you can buy in the grocery store, but better! As you can add and adjust ingredients to your taste buds. Made with chocolate rice crispy cereal, and mini chocolate chips, this no bake desert is perfect for all chocolate lovers.
Why is this recipe the best you ask?
Quick and Simple- This recipe can honestly be made in little to no time, all you really need is about 20 minutes, and that’s from start to finish. So simple, even kids can make this.
No Bake- We love a no bake recipe, especially in the summertime when you don’t want to turn on that oven, but still want a sweet simple treat.
Chewy– This will be sure to satisfy that chewy, decadent crunch you’ve been craving.
Ingredients for this easy, come together in no time treat.
Main ingredient and star of the show Cocoa Rice Crispy Cereal. You can use the original brand, but off brand also works well, as it will still give you that crunch you’re looking for.
Marshmallows– I used large marshmallows, as that is generally what I go for, that way I have them on hand for smores. This recipe calls for half a bag but do count them out if you wish. You can also use mini marshmallows if that’s what you have on hand.
Butter– I tend to always lean towards unsalted butter, but if you don’t have it on hand, feel free to use salted. It will still turn out alright, especially if you tend to like that little bit of saltiness in your sweets.
Vanilla- I love using this in all my baked good, feel free to add less or more depending on how you like it.
Chocolate Chips- I like the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. You can use regular size, or milk chocolate, or even dark.
Peanut Butter- If you’re looking for that added crunch you can use crunchy peanut butter, but I like smooth, and it comes together better.
Recipe Tips
- Parchment Paper- You can use this instead of nonstick cooking spray. Especially if you wish to remove them from the pan easier and cut them up individually.
- When pressing into pan, make sure not to press too hard that way they still remain airy and fluffy in a sense. Unless you prefer dense treats, then press away.
- Like a topping? Drizzle with extra chocolate, melted marshmallows, or even sprinkles.
- Storing- These will keep for up to a week, if you can make them last that long. I ate these up within two days.
